REASONS ABOVE ALL – Collapse

The first #DIÁRIODESHOWSINDICA of the year is the band called Reasons Above All  for those who are metalcore fans. The American quartet has just released the single ‘Collapse’ with an official music video on youtube as well. After all, what is not lacking in the band is the willingness to express their ideas and feelings in every possible way.

Reasons Above All‘s sound will please the listener who likes bands like Trivium, My Chemical Romance, Bullet for My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, who are the main rock names that influence the boys to compose their own stories.

According to the band, the single ‘Collapse’ which was written at the height of the pandemic, leads us to reflect on what is important to keep in our lives. “The song is about recognizing the obstacles in life that are holding you back so you can eliminate them and move forward.”

ANNIE DUNKES – Tension

When someone says that there are no rock’n roll bands like it used to, you can show Annie Dunkes band in their face. The classic rock with high quality, with the vocal power and immersive harmonies of ‘Tension’, takes the female quartet to the top of the charts with the single’s debut. And they go up like a Harley Davison ride along American roads and hair blows in the wind.

The band is all-female, and they use rock music to creatively draw inspiration from women’s empowerment. Greta Van Fleet, watch yourself! Led Zeppelin must be proud, while Janis Joplin is tossing and turning wherever she is.

If you’re in the mood for free and powerful sound, listen to Annie Dunkes’ ‘Tension’ now.

SOFIA GARCIA – Higher Than High

The single ‘Higher Than High’ is a demand for love, according to Sofia Garcia, an independent singer, and songwriter from New York. With a folk-pop style, it celebrates romantic love and also prompts us to reflect on the barriers we have placed between us.

The singer explains that the song is about falling in love with someone in its purest form, it’s about wanting to be closer emotionally and physically. It’s the vibrant energy that makes you want to run for the mountains for no reason and never stop. “I was happy and I wanted people to feel that happiness through the recording” – she continues.

Now listen to Sofia Garcia‘s debut track and rise to that infectious energy she translated into ‘Higher Than High’:

MAXYME – Toxic Boy

Maxyme is only 19 years old, but she already knows how to set the tone and take a stand in an abusive relationship without being intimidated. Irreverently and with a lot of energy, she passes on the message in her new single ‘Toxic Boy’, making this her new big hit and showing the music world that she will indeed conquer her own space. So much so that having an English version is not enough, the Canadian also released a French version, ‘Tu l’as promis’.

What catches my attention on this track is the singer’s voice tone, which is very different from her later works. A little more raucous, but it creates one by combining it with the synthesizers and all the pop elements present in ‘Toxic Boy’.

Follow Maxyme‘s work, I’m sure that more and more in the pop world we’ll hear her name!

CINDY LOUISE – Rise Up

If one day you’re in need of some powerful motivation, put ‘Rise Up’ on loud and clear and watch the magic happen. Cindy Louise says that she often needed to be strong and stand firm, and based on her life experiences, she found in music a way to help those who also find themselves in this type of situation.

The single has an orchestral melody with progressive rock influences and at times the pop elements are extremely evident. But what explicitly calls attention to this track is Cindy Louise‘s strong tone. ‘Rise Up’ definitely makes you resurface like a phoenix from whatever the situation.

Press play and feel all the strength that the South African singer who started her career in 2019 has to show you.

TRICIA LO – Cursed by Your Love

“Cursed By Your Love is a poetic story of a deep feeling of love and desire for someone who is not good for her, that person brings out the worst side of her that she tries to refuse at first, but has no strength to fight -” I can’t even think about the things you made me do.” The influence of love eventually transforms her identity entirely and there is nothing more to accept it.” – declared the singer about her newly released single that won my ears immediately.

And my chat with Tricia Lo also had an unexpected revelation! The singer dreams of surfing in Rio de Janeiro, can you believe it? So help spread her work across the country and maybe we can get her a gig around here? I would love to and I bet you will too. After all, ‘Cursed by Your Love’ is a mysterious and seductive track, capable of addicting you to this hit for a long time.

ARIN – Rome

This is the fourth single by English singer Arin. In this release, he brings a new style of rhythm to his compositions. ‘Rome’ is a pop track with some really smooth synths, which doesn’t make the music extremely danceable but rather pleasant to listen to while we’re driving or relaxing at home, you know?

In his lyrics, he tells the story of two friends who knew they were falling in love with each other, but decided to just keep their friendship. So Arin decided to write about the ‘what if’ this story could have been. This single is one of the 6 tracks that will be on the EP that should be released soon and the musician says he is very excited for the debut, after all, this was one of the releases where he managed to develop his work and show how much his talent has matured with the process.

Arin says he is excited to hear the public’s reaction to ‘Rome’. So, listen to this track now and go there on his instagram and tell him what you think, how about that?

SAUTEREAU – Conversation Hearts

This is the first release by the singer Sautereau in her new career phase. In fact, she started composing as a child as soon as she got her first guitar, and in 2019, she released the first EP of her career. Now she takes on a new stage name in order to feel more real and in her songs she tells her life experience.

‘Conversation Hearts’ is an enchanting pop-folk track with the voice of the one who recites the lyrics. It’s practically impossible not to fall in love with this song and most likely, it’s the fact that Sautereau can be so transparent and sensitive, that she manages to win your heart right from the first notes you hear when you press play.

About the release, she explains: “Conversation Hearts ’is my hope for the half-full version of the glass last year. I know it’s not easy to find, but it’s full of love I want to spread. This song is about the bittersweet realization of how fast time went by, while it felt like it suddenly stopped. It’s about the frustration of not being able to do what we should have done, but I hope we still recognize the fond memories made with the few special people we were lucky to have around. It’s reminiscent of the old days to expect the best. The desire to be closer to people, that special person and their loved ones. It’s about feeling that spark despite the boredom, despite the silence and despite the loneliness. In fact, it’s about letting your heart speak. And then it’s just a little more candy, like candy ;)”

And do you want to know a curiosity about her? Her mother is from Porto Alegre! The first thing she told me when we talked was that she was half Brazilian haha. So, how about supporting her work as much as we support the national bands we like, huh?

EMMA MAE – Hollywood

Emma Mae releases another single, and this time, completely different from what she has been exposing to fans and the media. In ‘Hollywood’ she sings about unrequited love in a melancholy and engaging way. The piano in the introduction creates an intimate atmosphere, where the singer lets off steam and we feel all the emotion as if it were ours.

In ‘Hollywood’, Emma makes us suffer for love even if we’re not even in love with someone and once again, she demonstrates all her talent and ability to dominate the international pop scene. In a few moments, you’ll sing this young artist’s new single out there without even noticing, how contagious Emma‘s voice is and how accurate she was in choosing every word of this composition. And when it’s done, you’ll press play one more time. Wanna make a bet?

CARINA T – The End

Carina T uses her musical talent to bring awareness to the population. Her music goes beyond entertainment and aims to help women who suffer from abusive relationships and especially domestic violence. In ‘The End’ she directed the clip that portrays strong scenes about the theme. This single is a tribute to all the women who find themselves in this situation, declared the singer.

“This is much more often than everyone thinks and women shouldn’t suffer in silence. They must, like me, leave the abusive relationship and preserve their lives and dignity.” – Comments Carina T.

Musically speaking, the track is a rising indie pop and is heavily influenced by bands the singer admires such as Florence and the Machine, Radiohead and Alanis Morissette.

HAZEL – Start Over

The new single from the Hazel project is for those people who like more abstract and psychedelic music. The new musical experiment titled ‘Start Over’ is a journey into the unknown with diverse nuances and somewhat melancholy. And to create all this atmosphere, Hazel spares no efforts and masterfully uses the beautiful union of synthesizers, strident guitars and the groove of the bass to completely envelop the listener.

We can even go back to memory and compare ‘Start Over’ with the writings of bands like Pink Floyd and David Bowie. But, anyway, Hazel produced a track that you can put in that moment when you want to disconnect from the world around you. For me, ‘Start Over’ is intriguing and that’s why I wanted to bring this track for you to know as well.

15TH BEND – Distance

When I found out that the musician behind 15TH Bend started learning to play the guitar during the pandemic, with absolutely no previous musical studies, I was shocked. The single ‘Distance’ is only instrumental, but we can hear every thought that goes on inside the Canadian on every chord.

“This song evokes a whole infinity of emotions… from sadness, to give hope… to feel close, to feel so far Away… I hope you like it :)” declared the instrumentalist and I don’t even need to tell you (because I am indicating haha) how much I liked this track and like him, I also hope you like it.

Come check out the guitar solos of a young apprentice who finally put his talent in the world, and is no longer just a fan of Pink Floyd, Buckethead, Deep Purple and Dire Straits.

BAILEY TOMKINSON – Skin

Have you ever had a friendship where over time you became big strangers? People change, life changes and not every friendship lasts forever. And that’s the kind of story that Bailey Tomkinson sings about in ‘Skin’. “It’s about a friendship that turned and I didn’t feel like it anymore.”

“A lot of my songs tend to be about a couple breaking up or unrequited love in some way, but I’ve always felt that my female relationships are incredibly important in my life so I wanted to explore the breakup of one of those with skin.” – she explains.

The singer has already reached third place on the UK Itunes charts and is determined to expose to the whole world, her evolution as a songwriter bringing in this new single the strong influence of nu-folk. If you haven’t heard Bailey Tomkinson‘s work yet, don’t miss the chance to fall in love with her sound now:

NEON FIELDS – Meant to Be

With this song I discovered a new music genre: Indie Electronic Rock. And Neon Fields intends to take the title of reference, which for me, is already won! I confess that the track ‘Meant to Be’ became one of those songs capable of leaving me stuck for hours, in an infinite loop for two reasons: the instrumental and the voice. People, what a voice. No wonder the band chose this single to be the promotion of the album that will be released soon in 2022.

The story of this song is about a platonic crush the guy developed for the cafeteria attendant after she was just polite when responding to a compliment. There’s always that person who falls madly in love ‘out of nowhere’ for the smallest detail and keeps telling everyone that that girl (or the guy) is the love of her life, right? If you don’t have a friend like that, you’ve probably already done it hahaha.

The track takes the listener on a journey from a soft emotional vibe to an energetic, frantic ending that is meant to help tell the story of unrequited “love” and sinister obsession.

NOBODY ‘S WOLF CHILD – The Fall

Nobody’s Wolf Child now releases their debut single ‘The Fall’ on all digital platforms. A beautiful track, majestic as if you were listening to a renaissance painting in a museum in Europe. Instrument ensembles create an atmosphere where we can feel anger with a hint of disappointment.

The most interesting thing about ‘The Fall’ is the plurality of sounds. Between violins, birdsong, the vocalist’s powerful voice, making you immerse yourself in a parallel musical universe. “When you enter this place, step lightly and look over your shoulder. You are the one who doesn’t really belong here” – declared the band.

With 12 tracks ready to engage your new audience, Nobody’s Wold Child invites you to venture into their new music project. So what? Wanna try?
