#DIÁRIODESHOWSINDICA: 10 songs to listen this monday – MUSOSOUP

This is the last #DIÁRIODESHOWSINDICA of January. Check out!

DAINIS TENIS – Momentum II

I’m too suspicious to present you the first release of Dainis Tenis‘ instrumental solo career, ‘Momentum II’. Reason? The music is entirely composed on a piano and I have been in love with this instrument since I was a child. Without speaking a word for a little over 5 minutes, Dainis manages to convey an immensity of feelings with his fingerings. It was the first song I found on MUSOSOUP that made me cry with emotion.

So I invite you to pause, and I ask you to close your eyes and allow yourself to be enveloped by this melody that portrays how much we waste appreciation for routine moments day after day, and so, in different moments of the song the chords are repetitive, like literally what we do when we wake up until we go back to bed at the end of the day, you know?

Dainis Tenis is a classical pianist who has already won awards and has a solid career in Latvia and its surroundings. In his debut album “DECODER”, in which ‘Momentum II’ is the promotional single, the pianist pays tribute to two aspects that interest him – classical piano and experimental style that expands the limits of what is already known. Wonderful, right? I confess that I’m extremely anxious to know the full album!

RICCARDO MOCCIA – Constructive

I love Riccardo Moccia‘s concept of talking about spirituality from a different, let’s say, musical point. From the theme you can already imagine that it is a calm song, like mantras, but then you are surprised. ‘Constructive’ is a composition that wanders between Death / Post Metal and Heavy Metal, taking the message about the mysteries of creation to a differentiated audience. The Church must be turning around with Riccardo Moccia demystifying the concept that rock is of the devil hahaha.

The new single by the Italian band is part of the album “Sensed”, where they conceptually bring themes about the evolution of the Universe from the point of view of a Being of Light, a story based on ancient Sumerian, Egyptian, Greek, Indian and japanese.

They use harmonic singing as a reference, from Mongolian, Indian and Japanese chants. A peculiarity that makes the album also meditative, as well as merely aggressive. The rhythms derive from and are inspired by Indian Konnakol, the oldest musical language of man.

Even if you’re not a fan of this style of rock, it’s worth checking out this somewhat unusual release by Riccardo Moccia.

VICE KILLER – Heroine

Vice Killer is a band from England that emerged in July 2020. The 4 members are inspired by bands like Arctic Monkeys, Talking Heads, New Order, Joy Division, and at the end of last year, they released the third single where they brought a lot of influence of 60s garage rock too.

The idea to compose ‘Heroine’ was to make a B-side style song for one of the previous singles. But the result turned out to be bigger than the band imagined, and so, they assumed this would be that kind of a fan-favorite song at the shows.

With a modern and energetic twist, ‘Heroine’ talks about a girl who tries to reason and break people from power. Questions the uncertainty of the year that was 2020, trying to escape and break free from madness.

DARIÀ ARTIOLA – Questions That Spin

The single ‘Questions That Spin’ marks the beginning of the solo career of Darià Artiola, who is preparing the debut of his first album for the spring of 2022. In this track, he uses synthesizers to involve the audience in the atmosphere of the alternative pop rock of the 80’s.

Its content is inspired by the numerous demonstrations that took place in Barcelona in mid-October 2019. The lyrics recognize that there are clearly a number of political and economic reasons that are alarming and create social friction both globally and locally.

While the texture and message initially feels like a call to arms, the song ironically highlights that the modern “revolution” is little more than a chance for people to riot in the streets and break things while repeatedly setting fire to garbage cans. fashion. In the long run, no real changes are implemented for the issues at hand, words “rinse and repeat”. The song is a glimpse of what will be an album covering many themes: sociopolitical, environmental and personal as well.

CHRIS SCHELER – Good Old Days

“I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them. Someone should write a song about it.” Inspired by this quote from Andy Bernard from The Office, singer Chris Scheler says he wrote ‘Good Old Days’ about living in the moment and watching his family grow.

The song is a first-person take that he sings to his wife Amanda, where he tells her they are having the best days of their lives. This can be a great option on your playlist, as a soundtrack to some special moment you’re living right now, what do you think?

Inspired by bands like Stone Temple Pilots, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, Chris Scheler and his two friends created a captivating and nostalgic alternative rock track, where we can miss what we’ve lived through and even the current moment and those days that are yet to come and we have no idea.

DAGGERPLAY – National Day

The single ‘National Day’ was inspired by the current moment of Finland, the birthplace of the band Daggerplay. And for this reason, the premiere was on the country’s Independence Day. Their sound will please the ears of those who enjoy bands like The Offspring, Green Day and Black Flag, for example.

“Apparently we are ‘the happiest nation in the world’. However, I completely disagree. This ongoing discord happening in the press and on social media, with relatively high rates of suicide and crime increasing rapidly growing inequality, tells another story. That’s what ‘National Day’ is all about,” says vocalist and guitarist Pekko Mantzin.

With a punk, rock’n’roll style that also has influences from late s70’s powerpop, Daggerplay present lyrics based on their own rather dark experiences at times about growing up in a small town in Finland and the crazy years living in London, but at the same time not forgetting the hope and humor of it all.

CARTINGLEE – Star/Dust

“The roots of this project lie in the idea that there is a connection between our trauma and that of the natural world, and that we both grow and are destroyed together. We cannot ignore the storm of the climate crisis, and this album speaks to that reality, not directly, but through an exploration of our interconnectedness with the light and dark of the land we live in.”Cartinglee.

Rachelle Barr is the charming voice of the independent project Caringlee. She started her career in 2008 and soon went on a hiatus, which she returned in mid-2017. The singer’s new and long-awaited single ‘Star/Dust’ reveals her own feelings, and explores the slow dance between anxiety and healing after difficult experiences.

Unlike the tracks featured earlier, ‘Star/Dust’ is an indie-pop folk with powerful verses and captivating harmony.

CELLOS – Out of Luck

If you like BritPop, the band Cellos, formed in 2019, will enter the hall of your favorite bands. They released their first EP early on their career and it was a big hit in the North East of England. Two years after a lot of study and improvement, they released the single ‘Out of Luck’ to promote their next EP “Been Here Before”.

Their music is a blend of 90s/00s influences that when put together really help them stand out. Cellos‘ lyrics are real, honest and funny. The result is music full of personality.

The band went to great lengths to create the kind of music that their fans, and new listeners, would be hooked on. In ‘Out of Luck’ they abuse the shrill guitars, noisy drums and a powerful vocal, for no alternative rock lover to a fault.

Brad Harbeck’s Great North – One In A Million

Brad Harbeck’s Great North is a band from Tasmania, formed in 2021 where lead singer Brad Harbeck’s main objective is to create music that inspires the next generations. The single ‘One In A Million’ is full of elements that make the song contagious, and it’s sure to make the audience jump tirelessly wherever it’s playing.

Heavily influenced by Noel Gallagher, Brad uses metaphors about science and astronomy in his lyrics to accompany the drumming and guitar solos, which keep the indie rock track in constant motion.

If you like high-spirited music with motivational messages, ‘One In A Million’ is a good option to add to your playlist!

ANIQO – Balance

This is one of the first songs that ANIQO composed under this pseudonym. In ‘Balance’ she brings a somber composition, but that little by little, also shows itself as a song with illuminated aspects. Dark pop fans will fall in love with this work.

“The song is about origin in a metaphorical sense. If we understand that thoughts and feelings arise within ourselves, we are also able to understand that we shape our future with them – we are entirely responsible for that. No one can close the wounds within, except themselves. For that, you have to embrace your own inner child to balance negative emotions.”

This is the fourth single from the upcoming album to be released by ANIQO in 2022.
