Listen now the new songs I’ve found on MUSOSOUP for us to enjoy this holiday.

DARCY KATE – Songbird

During the pandemic, most people felt hopeless for better days. And against this backdrop, Darcy Kate put all the feeling that was going on in her heart, using elements of folk and indie inside ‘Songbird’. In this song she supports herself and consequently, the track became a dose of hope for her friends as well.

The Australian singer says that this composition came from something so intimate that she didn’t even intend to release it for the whole world to hear, but after some conclusions, she added the track to the repertoire of her debut album, which should be released soon.

“The song is about chasing your dreams despite the obstacles you face along the way…I wanted to write something as a reminder to myself to keep growing and chasing what’s important to me despite the barriers, the fear and the dark times. This was a song I never thought I would release, but after playing it for some friends who felt connected with it, I decided to add it to the album. I hope it will be a comfort to people during difficult days.” – declared the singer.

NIA C.C. – Animal

Have you ever thought that when listening to a song, you can’t say what kind of physical characteristics the person singing has? And this is just one of the reasons music has the power to connect people. And most likely, listening to NIA sing, you wouldn’t know that she’s been working a lot harder to achieve her dream of being a great artist in the music scene, because she’s black.

Her songs are like a diary, and in them, she tells and sings about growing up as a person of color in the United States and also about another very common theme in many people’s lives: love.

“My decision to go to college and simultaneously pursue a career in music was extremely important to me as a black woman living in a country where people of color often don’t have the opportunity to study. I’m looking for the double life of an academic and rock star, a black woman playing guitar and writing songs.”

In her new single ‘Animal’, NIA CC reflects on how scary is to be in an unrequited love relationship. “Animal is about the struggle to love someone who loves their dreams more,” said the singer.

If you like artists like Dua Lipa, Halsey and Katty Perry, you’re sure gonna love NIA CC‘s new song.

BIRDMAN CULT – Whisky Sunburn

The new single ‘Whiskey Sunburn’ is the latest work by alternative rock band Birdman Cult since 2019. According to Joe (vocalist), the track talks about Generation Z and the whole chaotic scene in which society finds itself in the last few years. times.

Like blood patriarchy, Generation Z today also relies on labels, rights, and several other ways to leave the ‘other’ in their place in a crude way, lacking empathy and humility. And this is the approach the band Birdman Cult takes in their new single.

With a garage rock style, the English band makes a mix of indie and alternative rock components, as well as several elements that give a characteristic distortion in the instruments and also in Joe’s voice. The chorus recalls an influence from energetic bands like Foo Fighters. Now listen to ‘Whiskey Sunburn’:

Brandon Poletti has just announced his first single that precedes the debut album of his music career, scheduled for January 2022. In ‘Those Stories’ he sings emotionally and engagingly, the story of the pain of a betrayal his brother lived with the ex-girlfriend.

“He found out she was cheating on him through a close friend. Looking from the outside, it was clear that at the time this whole situation was causing him a lot of pain. Having seen it all unfold, it opened my eyes to the heartache that can be felt in relationships and that’s what really drove the narrative of the song when I wrote it.” Brandon account.

In this track, the musician did his best to genuinely convey all the emotion through the instrumental, but it is undeniable how much his voice also contributes to making ‘Those Stories’ one of the favorite songs of those who love indie/ melodic pop.

JOSEPH HUNTER DUNCAN – Always On My Mind

The single ‘Always On My Mind’ marks a great moment both in personal life and in the career of Joseph Hunter Duncan. The track is present in the third EP of a series that has been released since 2019. In this work, the musician demonstrates his artistic maturity and does not hide in his lyrics all the intensity experienced in recent times when he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and his difficult experience with alcohol.

“The recording is an appeal to my past self not to go back to my old habits and behaviors,” says Duncan. “To remind me that I can stay on the line, with my family, my loved ones and myself. My hope for anyone who listens to this song is that they will find a little comfort knowing that you are not alone in these difficulties. The composition – and the music itself – help to overcome it.”

Despite the delicate and heavy theme, ‘Always On My Mind’ is charming and capable of playing for hours on your headphones.
