This month had a lot of wonderful releases on MUSOSOUP and I had to split it into two parts for you to hear everything! Check out now the first singles I selected this month.
MOVMENT – Propaganda
Movment is an alternative rock band from Ireland. After the release of 2 albums and an EP, the band has just released the new single ‘Propaganda’ which questions the veracity of the information on the internet.
After all, we live in a society where access to information has become something very easy and which also enables the unbridled advancement of famous fake news. So they ask themselves ‘What is true? What is fake? Is there another way?…’
All these questions are exposed in an engaging and intense way, within the sound pattern of emo and post-punk. Listen now to the new work of the band Movement:
COLLING STANLEY – Gone Through Hell
Colling Stanley‘s release ‘Gone Through Hell’ is interesting. I say this for the simple fact that the first few minutes of the song sound like an indie-pop track, despite having a dense connotation. But when you least expect it, it becomes post-rock.
For those who like Queens of the Stone Age, it can be confused with the sonic personality that the music demonstrates.
Colling Stanley has already accumulated notable experiences in the music scene, being a rock reference in Detroit and New York. The musician released his first EP “Can’t Go Home” (2020) as a resume that demonstrates all his knowledge acquired in stage and studio experiences while working behind the scenes, besides, of course, his talent.
RACHEL GLEDDIE – Not Always Enough
“People don’t always want advice, sometimes all it takes is a little understanding” – Rachel Gleddie. The Canadian singer uses her talent with the aim of making music a friendly shoulder for anyone that needs it. And honestly, the singer’s sweet but firm voice gives you a feeling that everything will be fine.
The theme that surrounds Rachel‘s new single takes the listener to a very deep reflection on relationships, even more so in current times and with the ease that people enter and leave one.
In ‘Not Always Enough’, she sings about the importance of two people staying apart before they can stay strong together. “If a person cannot maintain a sense of individual identity within a relationship, love may not be enough to hold them together.” – Rachel says.
Listen now to Rachel Gleddie‘s pop/alternative-country track:
The singer leaves a message for you: “Hello Brazil! I hope you like this song as much as I do. If you like what you hear, come find me on Instagram and say hello :)”.
LETTING UP DESPITE GREAT FAULTS – Gemini
The single ‘Gemini’ is the first track released to announce the band’s upcoming album Letting Up Despite Great Faults, scheduled for 2022.
The inspiration for the theme of this song is the concept of ‘forever’, coming from a meeting between friendships and/or relationships that, many times, we don’t even realize how rare it is to find someone who really matches us.
In this single, the band promotes a nostalgic and at the same time futuristic atmosphere with the presence of synthesizers, which gives the listener the feeling that relationships can grow together, forever.
COLE STOCK – Leave Me In A Heartbreak
Cole Stock has been achieving great notoriety on the US pop scene since his debut single earlier this year. In ‘Leave Me In A Heartbreak’ the musician surrounds you with the charming and smooth beat of his acoustic guitar.
According to the singer, this is a song about trust, community, and love. “I feel that in life, we all go through difficult times and this song captures the desire to be loved while demonstrating the need for the company of others.”
And despite the sensitive theme, this track arouses a summer vacation-scented euphoria and sounds perfect for a late-afternoon picnic or even a sunset on the beach.
DUVY BURSTON – Believe (Following Us)
Duvy‘s message in his new and fourth single is quite clear: believe it! According to the singer, he wants his track ‘Believe (Following Us)’ to inspire as many people as possible to believe that anything is possible and he does it to the sound of a commercial pop song, perfect to motivate you!
The singer is only 18 years old but has impressive musical maturity. Duvy‘s new single is commercial pop, worthy of the international radio hit charts. If you like electronic pop, surely ‘Believe (Following Us)’ will make it to your playlist.
THE MOOD – The Bus Stop Song
The Mood is an indie band with Britpop references. The single ‘The Bus Stop Song’ is the third of the quartet’s career, where they sing romantically and youthfully about modern life.
The introduction of ‘The Bus Stop Song’ to the guitar already makes the listener get familiarized with the intimate atmosphere caused by the band, which after the chorus, already makes clear the feeling of romance in the air. Altogether, The Mood managed to honor their homeland with diverse sound elements of British music from the 60s.
And this whole arrangement was created to tell the listener the love story between the singer and his girlfriend, which, just like in the song, was a rollercoaster of sensations.
MARC DELGADO – The Cautionary Tale Of Richard Manuel
This is the first single from Marc Delgado‘s upcoming album entitled “Wildwood Road”. The singer promises to take the listener to an immersive experience in rock, wherewith his songs he shows a conceptual and psychedelic narrative.
In ‘The Cautionary Tale Of Richard Manuel’ Marc pays homage to the late great Richard Manuel and is also a metaphor for addiction and the drug addict’s plight. After all, the singer has also undergone treatment to recover from his addiction.
R.E.M fan Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Wilco will identify with the sound personality of Marc Delgado.
ANDREA – Choose My Way
Andrea is a singer and multi-instrumentalist who has become known as Macedonia’s leading independent artist. Her newest release ‘Choose My Way’ has electronic and pop music elements that recount teenage anguish.
The pop artist says the goal behind ‘Choose My Way’ was to channel the raw emotions that fuel young adults as they bump into their parents’ desires and forge their own path in a modern world. The song signals a deeper lyrical sophistication for the new artist and highlights her soul and RnB influences.
The track starts off densely despite the pop style, some piano highlights, and then Andrea’s voice surrounds you so deeply that when you finish the song, you’ll want to hear it again.
FLAMING JUNE – Paralyse Me Where I Stand
The single ‘Paralyse Me Where I Stand’ is a mysterious and energetic folk-pop. Flaming June‘s track is so frantic that it makes you want to run aimlessly in search of something, or to run away from a situation, you know? This sensation was coldly calculated by the artist, after several sound experiments during the production of the album.
The single is part of the new album “Hope in a Jar”, which was recorded during the pandemic and is about to be released.
SIMON – Secrets
Simon is a singer-songwriter passionate about music since childhood, but without the support of his parents. So when he turned 18 he started taking the first steps into his career, writing for other artists.
Influenced by Michael Jackson, Enrique Iglesias, and Justin Timberlake, Simon released the single ‘Secrets’. An extremely danceable pop track. As he himself described his song “perfect for a night at the beach”.
CHRIS TOO FAR – Addicted
Chris Too Far is a young singer-songwriter who took his first steps in music as a child when he participated in a musical with his sister. Now, he has just released the single ‘Addicted’ which is really capable of hooking you both on the beat and on his voice.
Chris’ voice is melodic. In a certain part of the song, he recites a rap, and soon after, a choir appears in the background. Then he returns to the catchy pop rhythm he created from the beginning.
‘Addicted’ compares the feeling of falling in love with someone along the same lines as someone who becomes addicted to a drug. Chris uses metaphors that can be applied to both scenarios. When you fall in love with someone, you probably become addicted to that person as well, which isn’t always healthy as the song suggests.
ADOSA GRAY – Fire
Adosa is an anonymous artist. She expresses her art through cartoons! But you can see the truth of the feelings she expresses in her voice. In her new single ‘Fire’, she sings about a story of separation and vulnerability.
This is an extremely emotional and deep song. “The fear of relating after severe pain comes from healing and this song is about juxtaposing the need to be close to someone romantically, but not being able to fully open up because of past experiences.” – declared the singer.
JASON JUSTLY – Happily Ever After
Jason released the first single of his career in August. ‘Happily Ever After’ is a very important song for the singer-songwriter due to the fact that it is an autobiography. In this pop song, he tells his story while feeling lost in life.
“I had thoughts too dark to see the light of day. But then I met my partner who has been so supportive and who really “brightened my skies”. The music is meant to empower anyone who is feeling lonely or left out. Never give up, your soul mate is just around the corner!” Jason declared.
HECKYL – Bubblegum
‘Bubblegum’ is the fifth single from British composer, producer, and artist Luke Potter (aka Heckyl) during 2021. The catchy ear-to-ear song is wrapped in a modern synthesizer, percussion, and harmony arrangement – it’s compact and has melody delivered in an intimate vocal by the artist. It’s about love and how hard it can be to find it – it’s identifiable.
In the chorus, Heckyl sings “don’t say you love me when you’re looking for other company. This solitude game seems to happen often.” With this, you will surely feel the emotion that surrounds each sung phrase, and awaken the feeling of butterflies in your stomach in a not-so-romantic way, while listening to this release.
All these songs in on the official playlist of Diário de Shows on Spotify! #DiáriodeShowsINDICA.
