MARS SUCKS – Perfect Day

Mars Sucks is a german band grunge/alternative rock style with well-marked shrill guitars and several drum tricks. The chorus sounds like Incubus to me, perhaps due to the vocalist’s timbre.

But according to Mars Sucks, the great musical references that accompany them during the writing process are bands like Tool, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, and Pearl Jam.

Philippe Paludetto (vocals and guitar) and Marc Sastres (bass) have shared their love of rock since a long time ago, but during the pandemic, they teamed up with drummer Alejandra Robles Luna to start this new project.

Together, they recently released the single “Perfect Day”, a song that talks about moving on with your life realizing how a so-called friend might try to mess up your life.

Mars Sucks claims that if you don’t like this sound, you’ve probably already lost your taste for a good rock hit!

MIAMI SNOW – Let’s All Pretend

The band Miami Snow mixes melodic indie-pop with synthesizers in their single “Let’s All Pretend”, which brings a reflection on how obsessive modern society can be towards social media.

With progressive and dynamic chords, the single “Let’s All Pretend” starts making you feel that this is an electronic ballad that at any moment will start to get frantic, but when it reaches its climax, it surprises you with characteristic alternative rock melodies/ emo.

“Musically, we tried to give this work a little early 2000s rock angst, inspired by people like the placebo, aiming for a somewhat industrial feel with a monotonous repetition of root notes that symbolizes the repetitive nature of the social media carousel. We’ve married that with layers of analog synths to keep in tune with the overall soundscape we ended up falling into as a band.” They said.

EDGAR ALAN POETS –  Clepsydra

Edgar Alan Poets is a noir rock band witch recently released the single ‘Clepsydra’. This track, unlike their previous work ‘White Noise’, has a ballad-style sound, but without leaving aside the classic elements of the band’s personality.

At the beginning of the composition, there is a dark atmosphere that grows in intensity, with elements of classic rock, alternative and 90’s.

According to Edgar Alan Poets, this song is “A bit like life … we grow up and then we think death is the end, but maybe it’s a new beginning even more beautiful than what we live on this earth.”

“Time passes inexorably in our lives and we try to learn to live a little longer each day. Maybe one day we can understand everything as a wave breaking off the coast or like a shooting star that dissolves as it enters the atmosphere. Every grain of sand in “Clepsydra” is a second of our lives, I wish your life path is as beautiful as mine. They affirm and complement: “A deep ballad that wants to speak directly to your heart”

J-MINU$ – Optmistic

There’s nothing like an upbeat song to help us fight the challenges of the day, right? The artist J-MINU$ decided to compose the single ‘Optmistic’, to help his listeners to go through any situation that is that difficult.

With influences from alternative pop, drawing on the punk-pop slant of the early 2000s and modern elements of Hyper Pop, Bedroom Pop, and Hip Hop, this song shows the unique style and characteristic sound of J-Minu $.

The artist has recorded songs on his family’s food truck while juggling a full-time job and various side activities since 2016. Earlier in his career, J-Minu $ released more than 70 tracks independently, with a song that went viral for him to earn an Instagram verification badge before he completely overhauled himself and started from scratch in 2021.

TIËRNY – Lonely Are The Brave

The release “Lonely Are The Brave” is an impressive symphony of strings, melodic chords, and ambient choral harmonies, where TIËRNY explores themes of isolation, addiction, love, loss, and finding faith in yourself in Lydia Ainsworth’s exotic voice.

This is one of those musical works that make us get stuck in addictive sonic looping.

“I want people to listen and find comfort, knowing they are not alone, we are all fighting our own existential battles, we all fear, we all experience love and loss, but we can accept our failures, confront our demons, find strength in our sorrow and healing with hope.” declared TIËRNY.

Salem’s Ghosts – Sacrifice

Salem’s Ghosts is a Los Angeles Horror Punk band that decided to unite their passion for music and horror movies, such as Danzig, The Misfits, and Argyle Goolsby, who also created songs inspired by this theme.

“I was playing guitar at my house and then I started playing the main riff and I thought it sounded really good. So I recorded a quick demo and started to get the feeling that it would be in a horror movie, during a scene where a person is being dragged through the forest to be sacrificed. I started to hear these primitive drum beats in my head and I thought it would be a great way to start the song off to give it a really scary feeling, so once I got the song acoustic, I wrote the lyrics in an hour or so.” – told the vocalist.

“Thank you for supporting us, Brazil, I hope you enjoyed our music and we have a lot more coming for everyone soon!” – Vampyro

Wes King – Loaded Gun

Wes King  is a former lead singer for the indie band Tres King. In 2020, he decided to dedicate himself to his solo project. After the success of his first release in May this year, the singer-songwriter has just released his new single “Loaded Gun”, also recorded in the DIY style (do-it-yourself/do-it-yourself) in his own studio.

About the new single, “fans can expect something a little different. A livelier, guitar-driven summer melody,” says Wes King.

With distorted guitars running through the 3 minutes of music, Wes was able to compose intense, engaging, and fun music. Do you know that hit road-trip playlist? Definitely. “Loaded Gun” is on it.

We are going to follow more and more closely the new trajectory of Wes King in his solo career, which apparently will surprise us with each release.

Snap Infraction – Second Chance

Snap Infraction launches the anthem for people who get nostalgic and ask for life to give you a second chance.

The band says they make the kind of music they like to listen to. Influenced by bands like The Beatles, Oasis, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Jellyfish, Rolling Stones, among others, in their compositions, they bring a strong presence of guitars, drums, and harmony. But they confess, they don’t think about it too much, they just go out there and play.

Memphis Stone and The Elevators – Higher

The single ‘Higher’is alternative rock with indie nuances, which was inspired by a story of an old friend of the bassist, who traveled to Nepal. There, he went into a trance and was completely beside himself, on a mountain, watching the world around him and questioning part of him in it all.

Influenced by British new wave and 70’s rock, Memphis Stone and The Elevators release their third single. A solid, upbeat song, soaring guitars, and a heartwarming vocal “that will make you run faster, sing louder and wake up that little piece of your soul that didn’t hear the alarm this morning.” Affirms the band.

Rye Catchers – Anything

The single ‘Anything’by Rye Catchers,  is a catchy and fun commercial pop track that tries to make the listener feel like they are madly in love, like the movement of butterflies flying in the stomach when we see that special person, you know? “It’s a simple song about a complex emotion and the lyrics play with that theme,” explains Roberts.

If you’re not in love with someone right now, you’ll even feel the urge to feel it again when you hear ‘Anything’ hahaha. It’s the soundtrack to when the cute couple from the teen movie finally gets together, you know? Listen now to the new song by the band Ray Catchers and fall in love too.

Rec Syndrome – Mascarilla

Rec Syndrome is a post-punk/stoner rock band from Barcelona. With an exotic sound, since the instrumental and the voice oscillate at different times, the single “Mascarilla” is an outburst about what happened in the last year, says the band.

“This song is a way for us to drain everything that happened last year, the lyrics are naive and kind of funny while the music is aggressive, we like that balance. It was a very quick process, from putting the idea in the rehearsal space to recording it in our studio.” They said.

This is the first single from the upcoming album with no release date yet.

Venustra – May, I

Venustra is a gothic band with influences from heavy metal and punk, formed in Austin/United States.

In their new single, “May, I” the band makes use of hard elements, thrash, and dark tones that lean towards tension and release it into a cathartic maelstrom of chaos.

“What inspired “May, I” was the 2002 “MAY” movie, starring Angela Bettis, which saw the psychological and emotional breakdown of the main character whose mission was to kill anyone who betrayed her and use her body parts to sew a new friend for her to have.” Affirms the band.

Venustra has a strong and striking sound, but also extremely cinematic in its bet on music. According to the band, their concert performances are engaging, extremely lively, and leave a solid impression on the audience. If you were also in the mood for their concert here, how about sending a DM on Instagram with this suggestion? Haha

GMBT Life – Five Hundred Slaves

Imagine a band that mixes folk, alternative rock, progressive, and indie. If you could hear it in your imagination, you’ve heard GMBT Life. . The French trio recently released the single “Five Hundred Slaves”, a track on the first album that is about to be released.

Despite the great mix of musical genres, the trio’s creative process is simple. They usually find it to create the compositions and always start with something basic and then start to improvise with different instruments and even the help of a computer.

In this new single, you can notice strident guitars and the heavy but melodic voice, which leaves a trademark in the band. Listen now “Five Hundred Slaves”, it’s considerably a sonic experience like you’ve never seen.
