#DIÁRIODESHOWSINDICA: 13 new songs to get you inspired – MUSOSOUP

This time there’s even a soul & jazz in the selection. Check out!

PMAD – Who Am I

pMad debuts his solo career with the release of ‘Who Am I’. The track features a well-marked bass intro and develops with several elements of gothic, dark pop, and even alternative rock. Paul Dillon‘s voice oscillates between a dramatic atmosphere and electronic effects where he questions his own existence and also makes us reflect on ourselves. “You’re living a lie” – he sings darkly.

The single sounds like a horror story, but in an exciting way. The quality of pMad’s recent work is justified by his later experience in the Irish indie scene where he has received several awards for his songwriting, including “Best Irish Indie Album”, “Best Irish Indie Single” and “Best Single of Irish Indie Debut”.

During the pandemic, the singer decided to start a new project entitled pMad where he abuses his creative power to compose songs in a Gothic style. ‘Who Am I’ would be a great soundtrack to move the body at Madame (a traditional goth club in São Paulo). Check out and follow pMad’s work as he has already announced that he will soon have another success for us to enjoy!

JEM DOULTON – Konsultanté K.

‘Konsultant K.’ is track 9 of 12 on an instrumental album created by Jem Doulton I haven’t heard the previous tracks yet, but this single released in December took me on a journey beyond this planet. The single promotes a mix of sensations that can even be a little confusing at first, and probably, this result is due to the many musicians that are part of the project.

The story behind this project is as follows: during his career, Jem met a lot of extremely capable people in the music business and so he decided to compose with all of them. Now we can check the result of this collab little by little, as it releases each new title.

Jem is drummer with Thurston Moore and until recently played with Róisín Murphy. He is featured on Thurston’s singles Cease Fire and MX Liberty, and on the albums Spirit Counsel and By The Fire. He toured live with Róisín’s band for 7 years, and is involved in a lot of psych-rock and jamming in London as well.

Now, press play and listen to this fascinating composition called ‘Konsultanté K.’:

KRISTIAN PHILLIP VALENTINO – It’s Fallen

Kristian has also been releasing a single a month to promote her new album “For everything, there is a season”, whose main theme is love. “The album is based on a true love story from my past, which moves with the four seasons. In the spring the relationship begins, in the summer the love grows, in the fall it begins to unravel and in the winter the relationship ends.” – says the composer.

As in autumn (when the track began to be released in the United States) we are going to paraphrase the Brazilian pop duo Sandy and Junior, who used to say that in autumn it’s always the same as the leaves fall in the backyard, and in Kristian’s case, the love fell. So there’s no doubt that “It’s Fallen” is sad indeed.

“I wanted to give you that sense of magic and wonder you get when you see autumn leaves falling. The song has that airy, ethereal feel while the lyrics tell the story of how bad things are getting in this relationship.” Even to explain about his music, he is a poet.

Listen now to this extremely relaxing indie rock track, despite containing words that cause a little melancholy (the way we like it I know).

PSYCHEDELIC REVOLUTION- I Will Be Free

This is the first folk song Psychedelic Revolution has written, after a while building up their portfolio with R&B and alternative rock. The musician managed, through his guitar and facing the challenge of using his highest possible voice, to open up all the feeling that inhabits him to the point of making the listener pour himself into his chords. “I Will Be Free” is wistfully comfortable.

Chris Zhang is the voice of the solo project called Psychedelic Revolution and apparently, this name refers to his current life experience where through music, he tries to find himself/get to know himself better/free himself from the past.

“The chorus sounds very Britpop and the bridge is my favorite part of the song,” he declares of his recent single. I kept my attention focused on the moments when the voices open up. Is that you? What will be your favorite part of “I Will Be Free”?

END OF PROOF – Sad Kids Having Fun

EMO isn’t dead and End of Proof is here with a potent release to prove it. The Norwegian duo recently released the single ‘Sad Kids Having Fun’ where they nostalgically portray how they enjoyed life When they were teenagers. “Emo kids stay up late, drinking, skating and not thinking about the future,” explains one of the band’s members.

The song was inspired by the feeling you get when you return to your hometown after many years away. Walking the same roads, having flashbacks and memories everywhere you go.

The backing vocal on this track plays a key role in taking us back in time. While the voices convey a distant feeling, the irreverent drums and guitars with progressive chords mark the personality of alternative rock, with the smell of the 90’s garage.

NADIA MOON – The Last Goodbye

This track is very different from all the ones I’ve already recommended here on #DIÁRIODESHOWINDICA, I’m warning! Nadia Moon abuses the saxophone and the piano makes remarkable participation as a special guest in ‘The Last Goodbye’, the third and final release that promotes the EP, scheduled for February.

Nadia Moon’s single is a powerful, theatrical tango that speaks to the emotions and afterthoughts of a breakup, which can be interpreted in whatever variety the listener chooses to listen to.

I imagine you will enjoy this mix of Soul and Jazz, which Nadia Moon plays in a very particular way. As I said at the beginning, it’s different from what we usually listen to every day but as good as our favorite songs. That’s why you should add this one to your playlist.

ALEKSANDRA DENDA – Inner I

‘Inner I’ is an electronic pop track that tells the inner journey of leaving for unknown places, facing crises, winning a victory and coming ‘home’ transformed. A story that you probably know the script for, or at the very least, is halfway there.

In the video clip, Aleksandra Denda chose for the narrative of the hero’s journey, different female characters that represent the archetypes inspired by Carl Jung, while visually drawing inspiration from prolific characters such as Frida Kahlo and Marina Abramovic.

Aleksandra shares, “Sometimes you need to be broken into pieces in order to put yourself back together again. Composing Inner I was an important catalyst in this realization and transformation.” Introspective and vulnerable, ‘Inner I’ takes Aleksandra’s holistic and innovative art to new heights.

JESSE GROSSI – Rock ‘n Roll

Let the drums roll! Literally, this is the sound that starts ‘Rock’n Roll’, Jesse Grossi’s new single. If your affective memory works like mine, which when reading the title of the single imagines something inspired by 80’s bands and Ramones versus Mötley Crüe vibes or even metal, I need to warn you that it doesn’t even come close.

‘Rock ‘n Roll’ is a song about rock, full of optimism where Jesse Grossi emphasizes that rock can’t die in its chorus. The instrumental features electrifying guitar along with a groovy bassline, vocals, and harmonious melodies.

“Rock n’ Roll is my love letter to music and the sacrifices necessary to succeed in the music business.” – declared the singer. If you love rock and enjoy a lively sound, listen to Jesse Grossi’s latest release now.

DIONNE STURDY CLOW – I Could Be Somebody

Following the vibe of songs full of enthusiasm, the single by singer Dionne Sturdy Clow reports with her alternative rock, thoughts about being someone else, maybe more mature. The lyrics carry all that talk of putting aside all our daily fears and going beyond what we are expected to be, you know?

Its catchy rhythms and anthem-like chorus make it easy for us to sing along. Before the song ends you will be singing ‘I Could Be Somedoby’ along with it!

Dionne is influenced by artists like Johnny Cash, Frank Turner, and Cage the Elephant. If you like that kind of sound too, get ready to welcome a new favorite artist who will definitely add to this lineup.

MEDIVH – Rebirth

The single composed by the brothers who form the group Medivh is a fine line between electronic and rock, where they managed to create a sound so peculiar capable of hooking your ears to the melody.

The band explains the history of this release: “In a reality that always pushes you to the limit, you need to be strong and rise again every day. Forget yesterday’s fears and failures, to have courage and live fully in the present. We met a girl recently and heard her story. A brief encounter, but we kept that in our minds. It’s Marie Jane, a survivor. She is fragile and strong at the same time: she is very young, but she already knows how hard life is. She was tempered by the storm and what she experienced made her able to be reborn from her own ashes. Every night she dies. Every day she is reborn to fight and feel alive. Marie Jane is magnetic, a force of nature. She attracts you and you can’t help but want to be like her. It feeds on energy, it creates and it destroys. Marie Jane is a goddess and we can only stand and watch as she passes through our lives.”

Medivh is the perfect combination for all those moments suspended between dream, reality, fear, and emotion. They make that kind of music that gives us the feeling of transcending into another reality! Close your eyes and feel the beat of this song and then you’ll be able to understand what I felt when I heard ‘Rebirth’ for the first time and all the others that were on repeat.

MAIJAH – Usual Sad

Maijah is a contemporary pop singer who recently started releasing her music and has already achieved massive numbers on streaming. In the last single that she released, the singer went beyond what she is used to doing and recording, in addition to the voice, all the piano and guitar instrumental that accompanies her.

In ‘Usual Sad’ she portrays the situation of those who suffer from depression and took advantage of the winter season in her country to enter the melancholy and vulnerable mood. What enchanted me in this production was the cello, guitar, and piano ensemble, and of course, the beauty of Maijah’s voice.

“Usual Sad dives right into the minute and gritty details of feeling overwhelmed and isolated by your own mental health with phrases like “it’s a little sadder than usual this time.” – she said.

NASMORE – Say Goodbye

Nasmore invited Cris Hodges to participate in his new single and their synergy can be heard through the infectious beats of ‘Say Goodbye’. The track features an 80s rock vibe, “love song pop” style, with a melodic rap, and tells the story of people in love who face moments of great challenges in their relationships.

All these elements allow ‘Say Goodbye’ to completely grab the attention of any listener. The melody forms an incredible base so that the guitar chords run together and accompany the soft vocals that intersperse with anguished screams.

The result of this partnership is fiery and shows the public all the talent, the professional and creative ability of Nasmore and Cris Hodgers.
