This list is full of exciting and very powerful songs. I bet you’re gonna love it!
IVAN – Eyes For Her
Let’s start this month’s of #DIÁRIODESHOWINDICA with a very different sound than what we are used to listen around here. The first song on today’s list is called “Eyes For Her” and we can already assume that it’s a romantic song, right? Well, Ivan is a Canadian singer/songwriter/producer and has just debuted his first single, with the total focus of getting you involved.
The release mixes genres such as soul, pop, contemporary R&B and has a nostalgic air that makes the listener relax and be carried away by the singer’s charming voice, as he declares himself to his love (and makes us want to be in her shoes). .
“Eyes For Her’ is a song about standing upside down for someone and screaming at the top of your lungs. Being in love and mesmerized by that special someone comes with its inherent risks, but it’s all worth it. I wrote this song wanting to bring back a feeling of that old school kind of love, where having that special someone, and the joy that it brought alone, was worth it.” – Ivan.
Missing the time when we had the famous flirt. Listen to “Eyes For Her” now:
THE RAPPORTS – Wanna Be
Now let’s go back to alternative rock, and taking advantage of the fact that at the end of the month there’s Lollapalooza with The Strokes, I come to introduce you to a band that in the first chords of the new single “Wanna Be” made me miss listening to the band of Julian Casablancas. So, if you also enjoy this aspect of rock, get closer to meet your new favorite band.
The Rapports is a band from Brighton, UK, that carries a lot of melody, electrifying guitar solos and a pulsating rhythm that makes it impossible to sit still while listening to this sound. According to the band, their inspirations are the romantic vibe of the 90s and the Britpop of the 2000s.
Soon, the English band will release their first album entitled “Taking Off”. An album in which Tom and the band tell their stories and life experiences, from the time when they were kids raised with music and beer in the corners of pubs. “It’s an album we’d love to hear sitting on a pub bench, a warm IPA in hand and the night to reinvent the world.” – The Rapports.
Want to feel that energy? So press play!
NOBODY WOLF CHILD – The Devil’s Gold
Nobody Wolf Child released the second single of the trilogy that tells the story of Wolf Child and the outside world. “As she discovers her strength, supported and healed by the natural world, she also becomes more alienated from human society. The track tells her story of temptation, almost lost to another force. She seeks help both from within and from the surrounding darkness; Finding strength from those who always watched from the shadows who answered the calls.” – declared the band.
In total, the album has 12 tracks and the band has already announced that it is planning a completely immersive show for its promotion. Unfortunately, the chances of the tour going through Brazil are minimal, but without a doubt, the Nobody Wolf Child performance is one that I would really like to check out live for Diário de Shows.
“The Devil’s Gold” is a dark pop anthem, where we can get lost in the shadows of the well-orchestrated instrumental and the vocalist’s impeccable voice. Check it out:
WIND WALKERS – Dead Talk
No kidding, I’ve been listening to “Dead Talk” on repeat for a long time since I first met the Wind Walkers at MUSOSOUP. They’re the typical melodic metal/post hardcore band that grabs my ears from the very first chords, and the whole arrangement of the song makes me shiver. I just surrendered! And I bet you will do the same as soon as you know the new release of this group that was born in 2015, in central Massachusetts, in the United States.
“Dead Talk” marks the band’s return to the music scene and brings a lot of feeling involved. The single is an account of the personal experience in which the vocalist lived.
“Shortly after I started writing for these tracks, my grandfather, who was by far the most prominent male figure character in my life, passed away. Being the first time I’ve experienced the loss of someone so close, I really struggled to find any kind of peace or closure in his death. I ended up turning to this track because I like to process my thoughts and emotions about everything that happens in the moment.”
I’m still fascinated by how life’s most challenging moments are the ones artists turn into such incredible works. Check out:
STAY FOR TOMORROW – Prison Living
Stay for Tomorrow releases another amazing single and is present again at #DIÁRIODESHOWINDICA. This time, “Prision Living” tells the story of a suffocating relationship, but without leaving the band’s energetic personality and addictive guitar riffs aside.
“We wanted to dive deeper into talking about the struggles of a relationship, rather than just the hard feelings that the aftermath brings. ‘The skin I’m in, where to start? It’s Prison Living’. The song is about a couple who don’t have the courage to end things as their resentment for each other grows by the day. Written from a personal experience, but relatable to many”, declared the band.
If you’re a fan of Foo Fighters and You And Me At Six, you’re sure to love the sound of Stay For Tomorrow too. Want to bet? Listen to the release “Prison Living” now:
SUBURBAN SON – From Your Heart to Mine
While the band’s previous song was about a relationship where the couple didn’t have the courage to end, Suburban Son tells the story of another couple, who began to slowly distance themselves until they didn’t know each other anymore. “From Your Heart To Mine” is Suburban Son‘s debut single as a vocalist, after a consolidated career in Sweden as a drummer.
The musician says he started writing the lyrics for “From Your Heart To Mine” in a small hotel room while on tour. Apparently, the track is a rant that accompanies elements of folk, country, and of course, a dash of classic rock.
Discover Suburban Son‘s new work now and stay tuned, as he promises many releases later this year!
NASMORE – Adrenaline Storm
Are you ready to meet one of the most intriguing songs I’ve ever performed on #DIÁRIODESHOWINDICA? I hope so. “Adrenaline Storm” by Nasmore, which is also a recurring artist here, has just released a single so amazing, I had to listen to it several times. The track has such a mix of genres, that just when you think the song goes one way, it goes another completely unexpected one. It is wonderful!
In short, it’s alternative rock with rap. Putting it that way, it doesn’t even sound that amazing, but I swear to you, I was obsessed with this track! Words are not enough to describe the intelligence of this composition that reflects the emotional chaos felt by artists during the pandemic. Full of ups and downs and surprises, Nasmore’s new single is a real adrenaline rush. Check out:
JEREMY ENGEL – I Got Cought
Jeremy Engel after watching the movie “Irish Tour 74” moved to Ireland. It was pure passion that made him abandon his role as a UN conference interpreter, move to another city and start showing the world his musical talent. The singer’s first single was released in 2020 and now, he brings much more emotion to his voice, reciting the lyrics of “I Got Cought”.
In this single, he shares with the audience his complex introspection around a suffocating relationship. The internal battle he is having is further reflected in the instrumentation, with a circular guitar line and intensified strings.
Discover Jeremy Engel’s newest work, an intimate and captivating track:
JON SANDMAN – Dear Friend
Have you ever walked away from important people in your life, found yourself lonely, and have you ever wanted to go back in time or apologize? Jon Sandman composed “Dear Friend” in 2017 when he found himself in this situation. Therefore, the new single is an open letter to all the people who have passed through the singer’s life. “Dear Friend” is an extremely sensitive, emotional, and melancholy track.
“Dear Friends”… I’m sorry I haven’t kept in touch. I’m often overwhelmed. This is a song about how much I miss everyone I’ve met along the way – those who stuck around as much as those who came and left. were – and I wouldn’t be who I am today without each one of you.” declared Jon.
Jon Sandman says that his musical influences are classic rock and indie bands such as Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, Eels, Grizzly Bear, Spoon, Beirut, Doves and Elbow, but also included in the group, names such as Big Black Delta, Joywave, Metronomy and Miami Horror to inspire the electronic side of his music. Check out the result of this mix, now:
LILO POWDER – One of Us
Lilo Powder is a Swedish band formed by Andreas Lundmark (singer/guitar/songwriter) and Tim Meier (drums). The band creates great soundscapes with a focus on melodies that could be the soundtrack to several memorable moments in our nostalgic lives.
The single “One Of Us” also talks about relationships, here the band tells the story of living everyday life together and building their own family. It’s also about embracing the end of an era, finding a new home, and getting out of town.
The track brings elements of alternative rock, dream pop and indie rock. It’s that kind of music to enjoy in a very relaxing moment, you know? Come, let Lilo Powder get you involved with the “One of Us” release:
DAVIDE ANNIBALLI – Simplicity
I’ll tell you that as soon as I heard “Simplicity” I already decided that it would be on the #DIÁRIODESHOWINDICA list because I love classical music and piano. But later, when I got to know the story behind this song, I was really touched, for personal reasons. It moved me in a different way.
The thing is, for years I put my passion for the piano aside, pick it up and drop it again. And I often wonder if I’ll ever be able to play again as I’d like to. So I know the story of Davide Anniballi, a 57-year-old math teacher who lives in Italy and decided to go back to playing his favorite instrument and since then, he’s been composing amazing songs like “Simplicity”, just for fun.
“Clearly, I would like to be heard by a lot of people, but I’m not obsessed with it. I’m having a lot of fun and I’m happy if my music is liked even by some people. “Simplicity”, is an instrumental song only and I wrote it with the idea of a simple structure but, at the same time, effective. I would like this piece to convey a sense of lightness and peace.” – says the pianist.
Davide Anniballi‘s hobby is a gift to our ears. Enjoy his work:
LEONARDO BARILARO – Not 63 Days Without A Note
Leonardo Barilaro is a pianist and aerospace engineer. In his new single “Not 63 Days Without A Note” he reflects on the situation in Ukraine. This is a dark and yet hopeful piece for piano and synthesizer, where the percussive low frequencies of the piano merge with the sound of scratching drums.
You must be wondering what the relationship between the name of the single and the story told in this composition is. But the truth is that Leonardo has a music project called “Space Piano Music Everyday”, where he makes a new composition on the piano available every day on Spotify. I found this amazing! This attitude of the composer comes from his mantra: “Die Sine Nota” (No Day Without Note).
Definitely follow Leonardo Barilaro on Spotify and enjoy his talent every day:
LIAD ABRAHAM – Call of the Sea
If the sea called you, what would it be like? Surely you at some point have stopped to hear the sound of the waters. Soft nuances and at other times full of intensity as well. This is Liad Abraham‘s third single, entitled “Call of the Sea”, an instrumental work where he conveys the story of his life through the fingerings on his guitar.
The composer says that the album as a whole is inspired and dedicated to his mother who has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis for 20 years. The album portrays in musical form the journey his family has been going through.
“Call Of The Sea was written from the point of view of a woman, bedridden by her illness. She can no longer visit the sea, but the sights and scents of the ocean are still in her heart. Then the mind takes a trip to the sea.” – says Liad.
Listen now to the message of “Call of the Sea”:
DOC BREEZUS – Bounce Back
This is the moment when we leave the most common genres that I usually promote around here, to show you a song that made me very excited. Doc Breezus recently released the single “Bounce Back”, a hip-hop rap filled with energetic beats that tell the story of practically “coming back from the ashes”.
Doc Breezus ended up getting involved in a pyramid scheme, where he lost almost all his money and was barely able to continue his career as a musician. It was then that he decided to return to the musical field and make music to inspire people.
I loved the rhythm of “Bounce Back” and it can be a good option on your playlist to give that mood that is often lacking in our daily lives.
JESSE GROSSI – OutCast
Jesse Grossi has just released another single and this time, he intends to inspire people to step out of their comfort zone. The famous “think outside the box” and create your own personality. The singer-songwriter was inspired by bands like Green Day, Rancid, Sublime and other names in alternative rock and indie pop to compose “OutCast”.
The result of this work is the transformation of a somewhat depressing story, into a track full of joy and contagious. In the lyrics, Jesse criticizes the facade of socially imposed social structures around us and even demonstrates a self-deprecating personality. But in the end, he resolves to embrace what makes him unique and leave behind the standard society imposes on how we should be and behave.
Listen to Jesse Grossi’s new single “OutCast” now and be inspired to become who you were truly born to be:
SALT – Boxcar
SALT is a family band, so to speak. Sharon and Robin decided to do a Christmas JAM for their son and so, they ended up writing almost 50 new songs. But their career started a long time ago, when they were part of a Ramones cover band! You might already be imagining how much rock influence they bring to their new single “Boxcar”.
The story told in this release is inspired by a famous author, Leon Ray Livingston, whom Sharon met while observing some travelers (her family was of Roma origin). Therefore, the track encapsulates the impulse, adventure and love of freedom, combining soulful and honest lyricism with raw and raucous guitars, its unique alternative pop sound takes influences from post-punk and beyond.
Check out the single from the SALT family, “Boxcar”:
HORSE DOCTOR – Sinking
Horse Doctor is a band from Montreal, Canada formed by 4 friends with completely different musical tastes, but that complete each other and form a peculiar and unique sound. It all started when they decided to cover At The Drive-In and then realized that together they were too good to be just a cover band.
The result of this story, you can hear in the composition of “Sinking”, the new release of Horse Doctor. “A demanding but satisfying listen to embracing isolation; anguish and frustration approaching cathartic surrender.” – declared the band.
For fans of Mineral, No Drive-In and Alice in Chains, I present your new favorite Post-Punk/Emo band: Horse Doctor and the single “Sinking”.
JACK TIERNEY – Buy The Tickets
Jack Tierney is a young singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist who has been causing a stir in the Louisville, KY (United States) music scene and Orlando’s famous open mics. Recently, the musician released the single “Buy the Tickets” where he squanders his talent and captivates any listener instantly.
With his roots rooted in the music of Bob Dylan and the Beatles, Jack carved out a niche for himself in the songwriting scene with his poetic honesty infused with pop sensibilities.
In this single, he sings about the uncertainty of the paths he must tread and the impermanence of life. For sure you will identify with this song, because I believe that if you haven’t felt lost in life, one hour you will. It is part of the process of living. At the very least, you can experience this moment with a good soundtrack.
Enjoy the journey to Jack Tierney’s “Buy the Tickets”:
RAGING CLUE – Chapters
Raging Clue is a pop-punk trio from Nottingham (UK). Since last year they have already released a series of singles and a few days ago, “Chapters” is the new hit that came to demonstrate all the maturity that the band has been reaching over time.
“We are really excited about this next single as we put a lot of time, work and emotion into it.” – declared the band. The single’s theme invites the listener to reflect on mental health, the weight the world can put on people’s shoulders, and how much it is too much to bear.
Despite the dense theme, the arrangement of “Chapters” delivers a melodic instrumental and a mesmerizing vocal performance. Check out:
LUNA KELLER – Wandere
Luna Keller is a singer/songwriter who lived in Spain and moved to Germany last year. In this period, she described all the feeling of leaving her childhood home after 20 years, in a beautiful folk/pop composition entitled “Wandere”. The track is featured on her debut album “Prophecies and Silver Linings”.
“The song took over me and it was written in 20 minutes – and it felt so good to write it, like I was comforting myself with my truth. This is a song of gratitude for the moments we have together and of hope to meet again in the future.” – Luna.
This single became the most requested song in the singer’s performances, in her shows in Germany, Switzerland and England, in addition to broadcasts on Twitch. I’m sure you will also fall in love with the sweet melody that Luna features in her new song. Listen now:
